Blogger Troubles

Have you noticed that I have been a huge blog slacker? Hopefully I will do this more along with a few other resolutions on my list. The kids had a big Christmas! KE got her telescope, Wade got his drum set and Nate got his Veggie Tales movie and Leapster. It just gets more fun every year.

I'm having blogger troubles.... before when I posted pictures, I could drag them to wherever and now it won't let me... This makes it more frustrating to blog. Like the picture you see below of me and the boys... I managed to get it below the first 2 pics but I can't drag it down any further... Please any help would be greatly appreciated!!

She's Got the Look

I love the show The Big Idea and tonight they introduced a company that markets stuff for the ladies.... stuff I want! Yes, even though I can't spend any money, who says I can't look for ways to spend money? Be sure to check out the Commando seamless panties and matchsticks...too cute!

Speaking of, we did really good tonight. Usually by this time in the week, we have eaten out 3 times. We entertained the idea of going over to Gino's for a juicy burger and fries but after about 5 minutes of looking at each other (hoping the other would say aw, what the heck) we decided to eat at home. Whoop Whoop!
Family Stuff:
KE had a play date the other day and W decides that he wants a play date too and even asks me for one. He is 2!! So we call a friend of his down the street and have him over this morning for 2 hours. I figured anything longer may end in disaster. They did well. Only one meltdown and it was W. N played right along. Then W tells me his hair is in his face and I need to cut it. It is amazing the difference between kid #1 and kid #2. KE didn't know half of what W does. ( oh and I cut his hair... not too shabby)
N is trying out new words and he has a deep voice. He is tough. He will hit his head, look at me like I did it and then move on.
School starts in 4 weeks and I need to get on the ball... KE has books to read, I need to buy her uniforms, new shoes and a new cool backpack that I haven't decided on. We picked a great time for a budget huh?
I'm in charge of our church nursery somewhat and I interviewed a girl to work in our toddler room and it went well. She is precious and has very good references. Oh how I pray this works out! I really never knew how much it took to run a nursery program. I strive to make the kids happy and esp the parents happy. The parents who are leaving their child in there and the parents who are keeping the children. We had TVs mounted in each room so that whomever is in the nursery during the service could watch and listen along.... that is if they can hear over the joyful noises of the children.
Since I have decided to do more of my house-wifely duties ( I'm talking cooking b/c I do everything else) there is a recipe I wanted to share that is so good.
1 Rotisserie chicken from Wal-mart
1 loaf of $1.50 french bread from the Wal-mart bakery
Sliced provolone cheese
butter
fresh garlic or garlic salt if you are in a hurry
Slice the bread the size you like your sandwich and butter both pieces on one side. Spread the garlic. Place a slice of provolone cheese on top and broil in oven til bubbly (or a little burnt like me) Remove from oven. Add mayo, mustard, or both or none. Slice chicken and place on bread and VOILA! Easy sandwich for you and hubby. Torrey loves these so it will satisfy.
p.s. sorry guys about the paragraphs running together. It drives me nuts but I have tried to Edit it 4 times already.

I'm walking on Sunshine

Had to brag on my sweet hubby today. He surprised me with these beautiful sunflowers from our dove field! One of my love languages is gifts so the flowers were great ( and didn't cost a thing I might add!) My other love language is acts of service and I consider the fact that he took time to cut these and bring them to me just that.

KE proceeded to say. "Daddy can you get me some flowers next time? Except I like roses best." Not afraid to speak her mind.

On a more personal note......

I haven't shared our life happenings in a while it seems.......

We haven't stopped this summer!! After our VBS we had a pool break and then picked back up this week with another VBS for KE. She loves it. KE has made a couple of accomplishments in the past couple of weeks! She has self-taught herself to ride her bike and play twinkle twinkle little star on the piano. I'm looking into lessons as we speak.

W has been 3 nights and going on 4 days with no papi!!! I simply told him that it was time for me to send it to another baby and since he was a big boy, he didn't need it anymore. He cried the first night and naptime but is doing great! He said " I don't want to be a big boy, I want to be a baby!" He is a sweetheart in every sense of the word. I truly believe that children are THE most precious gift ( besides salvation) we are given. And just like salvation, some poeple accept thier gifts and some don't. My house would be full of neglected children if my husband would let me.

My ladies small group just finished Beth Moore's Breaking Free (Making Liberty In Christ a Reality in Life)
I was not raised in church except for going with Granny when I visited her ( oh she made me wear those awful pink sponge rollers to bed and I looked like a freak going out in public the next day). Oh and thank goodness ( ironically) my mom sent me to Catholic school.
I accepted Christ as my personal savior at age 2o. Now let me just say, it was not an overnight transformation... actually it was pretty scary. I wanted to learn and know more of how God wanted me to live but it was so different from what I knew at the time that it was overwhelming. ( I mean, I wasn't that bad) So overwhelming that I rebelled.

After starting to settle back down in life and finally start to feel comfortable being with me... I met Torrey. The saying that "if you aren't looking.." is true... at least for me. We didn't click until the 3rd date and we just knew soon after that we would be together forever. It wasn't until I became pregnant with KE that we both agreed we needed to be in the same church (He was Catholic. I was not.) So that is what we did.

A few years later, I started going to small group Bible study. I had no idea what a blessing this could be! I have met some amazing women and a few lifelong Christian friends. See, when I started following Christ, I lost some friends ( and family). That was devastating to me at the time but I knew God had bigger plans. He "let" me keep some of the old friends to grow with and introduced me to new ones. Even parental figures.

After I became a Christian, I started to learn about Christian music artists ( well, I knew about some and couldn't stand the music), speakers and authors. Beth Moore was one of them. My impression of her was that she was really deep and way above my head.. anyway.. I was intimdated by all that serious Bible studying stuff.

Finally!! In the past 12 weeks I have completed my first Beth Moore study!! This may not excite you but let me tell you.... if you ever have the opportunity to do one of these... DO
She keeps your nose to the scriptures while sharing her life expierences with you. It's humanly unbelievable what most of these great Christan teachers have gone through in their pasts to come to Christ.

... I think I just gave a bit of my testimony.

I haven't mentioned N... oooohhhh.

He is going to be a handful to say the least. He is 18 months and walking everywhere and saying a few words... mama, dada, juice, dog, ok, eat, more, barney, dora, diego and today he picked up a pull-up and said "pull-up" color.. and cancake ( pancake) tank-choo (thank you)
When this little guy doesn't get his way he throws a ear-piercing tantrum. It's LOUD. I told Torrey the neighbors are going to report us if he doesn't stop screaming!! This too shall pass. The screaming... well, hopefully!

We leave for the beach Saturday and I have yet to pack so I better get busy.

Happy Daddy Day!

As KE put it... "Happy Daddy Day" and what a great daddy he is. As you can see by the pics, N didn't want to sit still so this is the best out of several. I'am so thankful that this daddy is the daddy to my children. I know that he will be there for them no matter what and will teach them life lessons. He's an even better husband... but that is another day :)

A Day Away from the Norm

A friend of mine told me one of my kids called her today. I know exactly when it was. We were in Target and to keep the boys quiet (I know) I gave them the cell phone. She said all she heard was W talking and I said a couple of words, then alot of noise.

I get phone calls like this from time to time. I listen for a few minutes to try and make out what the people are saying in hopes of hearing some dirt! Did I just say that?!

Amy and I took our boys to Jackson for a fun filled day at the park ( yes, we have to go all the way to Jxn for a decent park) and Chick-Fil-A. KE was in Jackson as well with her kindergarten class visiting the zoo and science museum. At the park I ran into Mauri-- the one who just had the baby and takes awesome pictures-- I got to converse with other moms too. It was a nice change of scenery.

We will be headed to Meridian tomorrow after lunch. My younger niece has her confirmation tomorrow night. I went here and got her a gift she is going to love.........I want one myself. I can't tell you what it is in case she reads this...

I have become quite the coffee drinker. Before I started drinking "real" coffee, I loved the cappuccino chiller from TCBY and the french vanilla cappuccino from the Exxon station. Coming home from Jackson I tried Mickey D's ice coffee..........YUK. Don't even bother. No good. It tasted like stale, cold coffee.

I was inspired today! Inspired to do a little project. It consists of getting rid of my headaches. It will take 4 months. I'm on board now so in 4 months I will let you know if it worked and reveal the secret.

Hmmmm.. okay. I will put it to rest for today. I thought I could go all day without logging on, but temptation got the best of me! Goodnight!
