Blessed

Sorry for the slack in blogging. I can say Iam  blessed to be so busy! If anyone has been keeping up with Layne, you will know she is doing good! She has given a couple of scares but hasn't for a few days now. I try to go visit once a week but I can't let 2 weeks go by! Yesterday, Hamp and Kristina dedicated Layne to the Lord in their church. I saw this as just a reaffirmation of their ongoing dedication to God with Layne. I have learned so much from Kristina. She has been so strong and fully relies on God for that strength. SO many people love Layne and her family just through the testimony of faith they give through caring bridge.

I have been busy making my annual Christmas wreaths and enjoying that. I can't believe Thanksgiving is in 2 weeks! I haven't bought the first Christmas present. I have friends who are done. Not this girl. I still don't know what to get everyone.
Here are a few past pictures I haven't shared.....

Joy

I spoke with Kristina this morning and she was in great spirits as Layne had a peaceful and restful night last night. Kris was able to hold her close the day before. This brings such joy to my heart for her. She said they were getting acquainted with the hospice nurse who just so happens to have been Julie's nurse during their time with their little girl. Julie and Kristina were brought together by God through a simple email and they have formed a bond that will never be broken. Julie was there for Layne's birth and has been there for Kris weeks before the birth to answer questions, pray or just talk. I'm very thankful for her friendship to Kristina. She has been such an encouragement.
That brings us to Ashley Bray. I was having a BBTN show and talking with my hostess and friend about Kristina's situation back in August. She told me about the Bray family and what they went through. Well, Ashley placed an order with me over the phone and she was so sweet to tell me her contact info just in case Kristina needed someone to talk to. I took it straight to Kristina and Kristina had already read their story via blog world... So, one thing led to another and they begin emailing. Before Kristina went in, Ashley let her know that she wanted to be there. I will never forget when Kristina told me that . She was amazed that Ashley who did not know her, who lived over an hour away, wanted to be there for her. And she was! Along with her sweet husband. As we sat in the waiting room, we became acquainted and we have a few mutual friends. They are a precious couple. God has totally put these 2 ladies that have dealt with the same thing in Kris' life and it's amazing to see.
Please continue prayers for the Gaston family. There has been much much joy already and there will be hardships to face. Layne's heart condition is considered severe. They are preparing to all go home soon. Her family has set up a caring bridge site.

This is a picture from yesterday (Friday) when Layne was dressed in a gown and hat Kristina has had waiting on her for weeks. If you look closely, her initials are monogrammed in white.

The Gift of Life

Words can't describe today. Baby Layne entered the world today at 1:00 at 4 pounds and 1 ounce. This is the baby that was thought not to make it to term having Trisomy 18. She is perfect. She is stable right now , breathing almost on her own with a little help from oxygen. When I left Kristina this afternoon, she was groggy and exhausted. It was a joyous day! SO many people are praying for her and her family. My prayer is Kristina and Hamp will be able to spend some one on one time with her. Her little life is indefinite but only God knows the outcome.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY LAYNE GRACE GASTON!

Also, here is a peek of the family portraits Kristina, Hamp and the kids took last week. Andrea ( the photographer) was there today capturing Layne's birth. I know they will be beautiful as well.

**UPDATE**

10-15-10 I spoke with Kristina this morning and she was able to finally see and hold Layne last night around 8p.m. Layne is no longer on Oxygen and was very peaceful . She is doing very well at this point! Kristina is so thankful for all the prayers and concerns. Kristina will find out shortly how Layne's night went. Hopefully sometime today a Caring Bridge Site will be established. I will keep ya'll posted. Keep the prayers coming!

Septemeber Up to Date

I hope this finds you all well. We have been on the go (as usual) and I just don't have the time to blog like I want. These pics will sort of catch you up from Sept 1st ( opening weekend of dove season) to this past weekend. You will see Wade's birthday being celebrated, KE and friends, a day of encouragement for Kristina given by her sweet and precious Sunday school class and then HOTTY TODDY! We signed up the kids for the Rebel Kids Club and they had the privilege of giving high fives to all the players before the game. We played in The Grove all day with good food, friends and family and didn't leave Oxford until 10 p.m. The kids did great!

Praying Through The Pain

One of my sweetest dearest friends and sisters in Christ is 28 weeks pregnant with her 3rd child, 2nd girl, Layne. She just recently found out from sonograms and an amnio test that Layne has a chromosome disorder called Trisomy 18. This is a life-threatening diagnosis for the baby. She will be seeing her doctor once a week at this point or more. She is totally leaning on the Lord even though I know it's extremely hard for her and her husband to deal with all the emotions that they are experiencing. There is always HOPE! Layne may be one of the babies that is born and gets to enjoy her parents' love along with big bother and big sister. I'm asking for everyone reading this to please stop and pray whenever you think of this family and sweet Layne. She is so loved already. I pray the Lord sustain Kris when she feels totally weak and helpless. She is such a strong woman and has the support of a great family and friends.
