Catch up

So sorry I have not blogged lately.... I don't think life is going to slow down anytime soon with 3 children. I have even started to say no to things.. oh the guilt! I must stop worrying what people say about it too.

Turkey day was the usual fast paced Greenwood family get together. But how I love afterwards when we stop to pick out our Christmas tree! T put it up today at lunch after a morning hunt. KE helped me strand 1000 lights and then all the kids pitched in decorating it. Oh it's beautiful! It was lit for maybe 30 minutes when KE informed me ... "uh oh" I looked thinking it fell over... nope.. the lights had gone out! All but the very last strand. So i pulled out the replacement instructions that are inside the light box... whatever. I have NO idea what to do!! Please anyone tell me what to do before I have to undecorate it and re do it all........

The other day the kids had their Christmas card photo shoot. It is not easy to get 3 kids to cooperate that's for sure... here's a peak

90 to Nothing

That is what I feel like right now... going going going! BUT I couldn't ask for more. I'am so blessed to be able to have 3 precious, wild children and a husband that loves me and works very hard so that I can stay home and raise them.

Last week was one big headache after another... literally. You that know me, know I get a migraine or two once a month at least. Then last Thursday night Wade wakes up and hurles everywhere! This was followed by an upset stomach... then Nathan and Katie Evelyn follow with the nasty stomach bug. Finally, Monday night it got me. Thankfully it only lasted 24 hours. Now I am in the process of cleaning and disinfecting the house, not to mention putting wreaths together for this weekend. There is a holiday market in my town and I will be showing them there. I would be enjoying a relaxing night with the girls tonight at bunko but since all the illness in my house, I decided it was wiser to stay at home and get last minute things done.

Oh, I have sold 4 wreaths! Of course I would like to sell all of them but I am very pleased with my progress so far. Wish me luck!

KE is doing extremely well in school. She brings home straight A's every week. She has missed a few due to the fact that she skips the question completely. I don't know if she is in a hurry or it's just careless mistakes. I'm trying to tell her to check over her work b/f she turns it in.

W is doing well... loves school... loves his teacher most! Yesterday he asked me.. "Mama, is this a bad word? DUH!" I said no honey.. then he proceeded to ask me if random words are bad words... He is 3. Kills me

N is something else! The defiance is shining strong through that little boy. Counting works with the other two but not him! He is def. a test to my patience. On the other hand, at dinner, when I serve him his plate he says , "Thank You!" real loud... so sweet

So who is done Christmas shopping... besides Suzanne? I have not even begun! This may be a good thing. I may not go overboard like I have in the past when I have started early. I'm bad about picking up something little here and there. Lists to Santa will be written and "mailed" out this weekend!

An Email I Received

UNBELIEVABLE

ABC News Bans Flag Lapel Pins

Yesterday, ABC News issued orders forbidding reporters to wear lapel pin American flags or other patriotic insignia. Their reasoning was that ABC should remain neutral about 'causes'. Since when is support for preventing our death & destruction some sort of a 'cause'? Since when is patriotism to be discouraged. I urge you to boycott ABC and its sponsors and affiliates. We're slowly losing everything our country stands for, and everything our men and women fought and died to preserve. Please forward this to as many as you can. You can verify it by going to: http://www.snopes.com/rumors/noflags.asp

Unsuccessful Photo Session

Sunday, November 9, 2008

I want to share my weekend with you. Me and 3 of my girlfriends headed to Jackson Friday and Saturday for a EWomen conference. My first women's conference was about 5 years ago. If you have never attended one, I HIGHLY recommend it. Usually the Friday night stuff consists of a light hearted speaker, praise and worship and a mini concert from a Christian artist. Then Saturday is full of praise and worship, guest speakers , another artist, tee tee breaks, laughing, crying... well, you get it. I can't describe how wonderful it is to be able to surround yourself with thousands of women who love the Lord or who are being led to Him.

Friday night we found some seats with ease. Saturday was not so easy. We finally found some seats that were not too far away from everything. We were in pews and I was complaining to myself how I really didn't want to be on the end. I'm a middle girl. I love to be right in between my friends. I guess I feel like I miss out when I'm stuck on the end. ( I know, I'm weird) There was just enough room left on the pew for maybe 2 people. A lady and her friend walk up looking for a place to sit and I motioned them to have a seat. The lady looked to be in her 50's and sweet and maybe a little tired. She introduced herself to me and I to her. I can't remember how we even got on the subject but I was telling her that my family was from Greenwood originally. She asked who and I said Thaxton and her eyes lit up. She said who? I told her my Granddaddy was J.D. and she said she worked in the beauty shop that Pearl went to! Pearl was my Granny. She went on to share with me the loss of her first husband from an accidental gunshot wound and then she lost her 2nd husband to cancer just this past August. I hope she left there with a feeling that she is not alone in her struggles.

Then I have a blogging friend, Alison. I think we "met" through Suzanne's blog. She found out that we would be at the same conference and gave me her number. Before I tried getting in touch with her ( and after I made sure my friends didn't think I was a complete weirdo :) .. I was walking down the steps of the church and looked up and made eye contact with a girl and got a feeling I knew her but disregarded the silly feeling and walked on. I sent Alison a text to find out where in the world she was in the midst of 3000 women. I didn't hear from her and my phone was dying. When I got the chance to plug my phone in, I had a voicemail from her. Come to find out she saw me but hesitated and she was that girl I saw!! She was actually seated above and over from me. At first I think that is crazy but know that God has his hands on everything.

We had the privilege of hearing a few songs from Mark Schultz. He is so precious and humble. The guest speakers were wonderful too. I'm already planning the next weekend!!

This is a terrible but the only picture I attempted of Mark... This is what he really looks like

A Weekend Getaway

A few girlfriends and myself will be headed to Jackson tomorrow for a women's conference that is sure to bless every one of us. Chonda Pierce will be speaking tomorrow night so I'm sure we are in for a few laughs. Mark Shultz is the artist along with many other talented Christian speakers. Every time I go to one of these I'm not really expecting what I end up leaving with. I don't know about you but I'm in desperate need of spiritual renewal. Life seems to get so busy and cluttered with what I want and need to do that I have left my precious Lord out of most of it. I call these dry spells. Well no more dry spell for me!

Now, time to go clean out the taxi and fold these 6 loads of clothes so I can feel good about leaving the house! :)

Oh and for you Jxn folks, any suggestions as to where to eat for lunch on Saturday downtown?

I did it! I got out there and tried something new... selling wreaths that is. I had my first showing last night and it went fair. Not a whole lot of people came.. I think being a huge election day was one factor. I sold one and have a custom request! That is a start right? Please pass the word to your friends to take a look at my work HERE

Thanks to all of you that have supported me in this endeavor already! xoxoxo

HOTTY TODDY!

me and my beautiful neices

our first football game. really.

I have known these girls for over 20 years

I haven't posted about the family in a while. T has been busy busy working and gone alot. KE and her soccer team were rewarded with trophies after their last game the other night for being the best overall!! Since she is one of the only two girls on the team, the boys pulled most of the weight but I think it did alot for KE and her shyness on the field.

I'm already sick of the Halloween candy. How about you? I think I have eaten most of the chocolate. I mean, somebody has to save the kids from all that sugar!

The kids loved trick or treating. KE was a movie star, W was Elvis and N was a punk rocker

I'm glad to see you all had a happy halloween. Now, another busy week lies ahead
