Layouts & More @ ColorArmy.ComI found this cute graphic while procrastinating on the computer. Every night at bedtime, W asks me to sing You are my sunshine. His version goes: "you are my sunshine, my little sunshine. I started singing this to my children when they were just babies. KE was my only sunshine of course but when it came time to sing to W, I couldn't sing my only sunshine because, well, that's just not true. So Wade gets "my little sunshine" and N gets "my tiny sunshine." He's not so tiny anymore :(

Happy Valentines Day!

If you haven't read The Five Love Langauages by Gary Chapman, do so, NOW! This is the prefect book for couples of any age and for parents and friends. This is a guide which can help you speak your partners "language". They are Acts of Service, Touch, Words of Affirmation, Gifts, and Quality Time. Actually this book should be a mandatory read for all engaged coulpes.
Take the quiz

Can you tell I love this book? ( there is even a men's edition!)

SO, my love language is Acts of Service .. you know.. taking care of the kids without asking, cleaning out the carport.....cooking supper......giving me my time and then my secondary one is GIFTS! At first I felt guilty about this being one of my love languages but then I realized it's nothing to feel bad about. I not only love receiving gifts, I love giving gifts! Torrey can't understand why it takes me so long to shop at holidays and birthdays.. He is like, just get them something.. I'm like Noooooo It has to be perfect for them!

So T has spoken my language once again! Happy Valentines Day to me!

Head Bangers Ball

I had a headache yesterday. The first headache in 4 solid weeks! That is a good thing considering I usually get one on and off for 2 weeks. I took advil and then a few hours later took some Sudafed (sometimes a sinus headache can tun into a migraine), went to bed, woke up today and it was gone. I can still feel some sinus pressure but it's way more bearable than a migraine. As far as my diet goes, I do eat much better but have cheaten several times when it comes to gluten free. The one thing I haven't had is milk. Also, I stayed away from aged cheeses the week before my 'friend' came to visit. Maybe this wasn't as hard as I thought...

I have been cleaning like a mad woman latley. We haven't gotten the flu, thank goodness; but we did get the stomach bug. W, then N, then W again , then KE . Mama and Daddy got a touch of it. N still has sloppy stools. This makes 7 days. I took a look in his mouth today while we were playing airplane on the floor and WOW! 2 top molars are cutting through and his bottom gums are swollen. He is pretty tough. I'm giving him Pedialyte. Everytime I give him and W milk...esp. W, they have loose stools. Milk allergy? Not sure.

KE dressed up (with her own dress up clothes) today to recite Little Bo Peep at school. Last night I asked her if she knew her lines and she looked at me like "come on mama" She said yes I have known it. (sassy) Then Babs (my God mother. not really but I consider her that) picked her up and they had a "Katie Day" They do lunch and usually go to Memaw's house to play with all of the old school toys she has kept from her own grandchildren ( Leah and Gabe)

That brings us here. I cooked the boys lunch and put N down for a nap. W had an early one so that messes my rest time up. As W is playing on my bed, and I'm at the computer, I hear something banging on the wall. I walk into the boys' room to find N banging his sweet head up against the wall! I lay him down and say night night. A few minutes later, I hear it again!
When I walked in there, he looked at me and grinned. This is the baby that freaks out if you toss him in the air even a little and catch him. He is going to be a mess. I moved the bed away from the wall and he went to sleep. I pray this head banging thing isn't going to be a ritual.

Daddy is hard at work and we probably won't see him until 'dark thirty' ( as he puts it)
I don't like him not being home for dinner BUT this is his busy season and after a few short weeks, it will be over and he will be home for lunch and dinner. This is why Sunday is my favorite day of the week. Well, also b/c I get to worship my almighty Father. (Something I should be doing everyday)

As I'm cleaning house this morning, I walk into the playroom/dining room to find N scavaging for crackers in my grandmother's old chair. Of course it was too late to get the cracker that had been there no telling how long. He is my first ( and last) climber! Isn't it funny how all children are different!

Time to Share

T had a wonderful, dear friend he met in college at Delta State. He was in our wedding and I got the chance to see him one more time a few years ago on the golf course. T regrets not taking more time out to keep in touch. He passed away from a long, hard fight with cancer a little over 2 years ago. He left behind 3 children and a precious wife.

His name was Shan.

His wife keeps up with their caring bridge site and I read where she has been keeping up with a baby boy who has leukemia. Of course I venture reluctantly to his website..( I don't do well with suffering children. But then again, who does?) Oh he is so precious and his parents are strong Christians and people for that matter. I just can't imagine having to watch my sweet baby suffer!
His website is http://www.ethanpowell.com/

My point in this is, don't wait to tell those you care about what's on your mind. Tomorrow is not guaranteed.

My friend Kris is working on her little girls room. I suggested she use drapes or a window treatment to break up the contrast between the molding paint color and the room paint color. This is W and N's room ( my little cowboys)

I have a question

For those of you who have boys.......

W has been going to the potty sporatically and if I stick to it, of course he does better. Right now whenever I take him to the potty, I sit him down for everything. When would be a good time to introduce the standing position to tee tee? Did any of you sit your boys down for everything at first? Am I messing up?
