Hi my blogging friends...
I have been in overdrive it seems these days with kids activities, housework and the endless worries of what's to come. I have been enjoying some beautiful-perfect weather. If only it would stay this way forever!!!
Okay, so ... today I took N to our pediatrician for a second look at his current illness... which was diagnosed as upper respiratory infection in the beginning. His fever spiked to 104 yesterday afternoon and I panicked. This morning, he only had 99 fever so I felt a little silly for going 35 minutes away... BUT better safe than sorry. He had blood work which showed an elevated count so off we go to the hospital for a chest x-ray. After the x-ray and being stuck twice, we were ready for a break and since it was lunchtime, and since the doctor asked us to hang out around town for the results, we headed over to one of my favorite restaurants in Greenwood. I was worried they didn't accept checks because that is all I had with me. I didn't prepare to be there all day. I found out they did accept them, so I had a lunch date with my baby. Several people smiled as we sat down. N had band-aids showing so if you looked closely, you could tell he had been to the doctor... you know the band-aids with a huge wad of cotton underneath. I had a sweet, young waitress who didn't speak very loud. At the end of our meal, she walked by and placed what looked like a business card beside me on the table and very meekly said... this is from that lady behind you. I sat there for a second, not fully hearing her at first and thought.. Oh great.. some guy is hitting on me and asked her to leave his business card ( don't ask) Then I realized what the waitress had said so I slowly turned to look behind me and nope. Nobody. Just a table with a box on top and the guy at the register. Hmmmmm. So I got this strange feeling and waiting on my waitress to return.. which took forever, I asked her if she had a ticket for me and she said no, have a nice day and scurried off.... I reluctantly got N and my things and left. I got to my car and read the other side of the card:
Don't worry about anything; instead pray about everything.
Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.
If you do this, you will experience God's peace. Phil. 4:6
Okay, so now I'm freaking... I call T to ask if he called up there and paid for my meal because I had told him I was worried that they didn't accept checks.... but really... that just isn't something he would do... or think to do. SO in a nutshell, God showed up. I believe and always have as long as I have been a Christian that everything happens for a reason. God knows all and is all. This could not have come at a better time. I have been worried about some things that I have been praying to God for answers and while I still may not have the answers, I have peace. Some may think... oh well, someone just saw ya'll and thought to do a good deed.. Whatever it was, I know it came from God.
It is amazing that when you give your life over to him, and spend time with him and pray to him what happens. It is a indescribable feeling of going in the right direction. It makes you hungry for more.. more of what God wants for your life. Not just what YOU want.
oh..p.s.... my baby has bronchitis... we got lots of drugs and he will be good as new in a couple of days.
