Playing Catch up!

Sorry I'm just now getting a chance to blog. Last Wednesday was our anniversary and T sent these beautiful flowers with all my favs!

Thursday was W's end of the year party for the 2's. Sorry that the first pic is fuzzy. This is Mrs Karen. She is an awesome teacher and my boys absolutely love her! After snacks inside, we had a bubble party outside

STAR STRUCK!
This past weekend, I went to Bham to stay with an old friend and in the process I managed to meet Ashley Eiler of BBTN! We sat for only a few minutes and chit chatted. She is a doll ( as I already knew) and I want to thank you Ashley for arranging to be able to meet me! It meant a ton. I also got to Meet Shelley (in the pink) and we connected as well. She was able to hang out a little longer. As we left I told my friend ... " I touched her!" ha ha I know corny but I have been admiring her as a person from the blogosphere for a while now.

Isn't this beautiful? I love looking at homes.. this is one of the homes in the neighborhood where my friend lives .

This is me and the friend I keep referring to.. Sherry. We went to elementary and high school together. We became good friends in 6th grade...(she may kill me for this one)
this is 1989... the earliest picture i have of us together.

The purpose of this trip was to attend a women's conference. It started Friday night with Chonda Pierce ( a Christian comedian) and praise and worship. Then we headed to a shindig at "The Club". Her hubby was hosting this which was a fundraiser for the boys and girls clubs of America. It was fun to get to dress up and meet some great people.

The conference began Saturday morning bright and early and ended at 4:30. It was wonderful! We had the pleasure of getting to see and hear The Newsboys. It was a great time of worship. God is so good. I have known this girl for almost 20 years and we know each other now on a whole new level. I'm so thankful! It's neat how God not only takes away people in your life, but he brings new ones. Even, new "old" ones. :)

As soon as the conference was over, I rushed to Meridian for my niece's pre-graduation festivities. Everyone had dinner downtown at a delicious place and then her baccalaureate was Sunday.

What a Wonderful Weekend

The remaining of Saturday afternoon consisted of a birthday party for N to go to and our babysitter coming over so that T and I could have a date. We went to see ghosts of girlfriends past... I won't get into a detailed movie review but let's just say.. yes, MM is not hard to look at and it should have been rated R. Afterwards, we stopped and grabbed some apps and had grown up conversation. That is always nice!
The kids took turns taking pictures of us....

That brings us to today. I woke up to my trio at my bedside saying Happy Mother's Day! KE had made me 2 small clay pots at school and a book of her poems. The boys gave me a gift certificate to a local store and my sweet hubby got me the bracelet I have been wanting for a couple of years.. I don't know what they are called, but it's the sterling silver silhouettes (heads) of my children with their birth dates engraved on each one. I am so blessed to have 3 precious and wonderfully loving children. I thank God constantly for letting me raise them. They are my heart. I still can't believe at times that I actually have 3 children... and we are not against a 4th.

Today church was a bit different for our family... I went to the church I went to when I met T. I have been once or twice in the past 8 years but I forgot how comfortable it was. It was so nice to see old faces and get hugs. KE went with me and we met my "mama" there. My best friend Leah's mother has been more like a mother to me for the past several years and what a perfect day than today to meet her and be able to worship our precious Lord together! T decided to go to his parent's church with the boys to surprise his mother. She was so happy that he did.. Then we all joined together at the club for a delicious lunch. The rest of the afternoon was spent lying around the house then walking over to Mimi and Papaws where we ended up ordering in for supper. I have got to get back on the healthy wagon tomorrow! The beach is just around the corner....

Fabulous Find and Flamingos

The weekend has started off great. Yesterday, I woke up to teenagers placing these in my yard...

The youth group are doing this this as a fundraiser..... Once you are are flocked, you get to call a number, make a donation, and these fellas move on to the yard of your choice. So far we have seen them all over the place.

T decided that he was ok with me selling the recliner.. and that I did! A friend was having a carport sale this morning and I asked her if I could put the chair in it. When we were dropping it off, there were 2 club chairs calling my name! I went on home and the more I thought about them, I couldn't let anyone get them :) ( I LOVE a bargain). Now I need to find some great fabric to cover the other two club chairs for my living room. If you have a favorite fabric spot please let me know!

Welcome to your new home!

Here is one of KE's dance pics...... love that smile!

We should.....

pray for those who find themselves in a situation where they think they have to kill their baby in order to live...

I think this topic is one that really gets to me. I mean. Really gets to me.

Inspiring words

This is from the blog of a fellow believer and I found it SO inspiring that I wanted to pass it along. These are the words of Oswald Chambers:

A spiritually minded man will never come to you with the demand - "Believe this and that;" but with the demand that you square your life with the standards of Jesus. We are not asked to believe the Bible, but to believe the One Whom the Bible reveals (cf. John 5:39-40). We are called to present liberty of conscience, not liberty of view. If we are free with the liberty of Christ, others will be brought into that same liberty - the liberty of realizing the dominance of Jesus Christ.Always keep your life measured by the standards of Jesus. Bow your neck to His yoke alone, and to no other yoke whatever; and be careful to see that you never bind a yoke on others that is not placed by Jesus Christ.

It takes God a long time to get us out of the way of thinking that unless everyone sees as we do, they must be wrong. That is never God's view. There is only one liberty, the liberty of Jesus at work in our conscience enabling us to do what is right.Don't get impatient, remember how God dealt with you - with patience and with gentleness; but never water down the truth of God. Let it have its way and never apologize for it. Jesus said, "Go and make disciples," not "make converts to your opinions."

Weekend in Review

Hi.....

Well, after a nice girl getaway ( me and KE) to Meridian, I am home doing the things that I'm so blessed to be able to do... hug my children, laundry, bills, watch my favorite shows in a comfortable home and share with you.

Friday... and I mean, all day Friday was spent making the infamous cake pops for my niece's senior luncheon yesterday. It was truly a labor of love. I enjoyed every minute of it! And they were a hit. I ended up making so many that I was trying to get rid of them!

I had to make red and blue ones in the spirit of the Rebels!

The girls ( my niece in red)

"posing" with the cake pops

my other niece and KE... beautiful

okay, so before we left, W asked me if I would bring them back a surprise. Look at what we came up with! Thanks dollar tree!
