A Week of Painting

Spring Break is coming to a close with beautiful weather I might add. I decided on a wall color... Blonde by Sherwin Williams... Two of my friends already have this color in their homes and then I had 2 ppl tell me about that color. I went and purchased a sample pint and LOVE it.. why didn't I do this sooner?

(yes my doors are High-Gloss.. can't stand it!)

Yesterday Me and Deanne took the girls to Jackson for a painting "class" at Easely Amused. They had so much fun and I can't wait for me and the girls to go ourselves! We also saw Anna Douglas Almand there! Her family used to live here and now live there... She was so little the last time I saw her. She said she remembered us though.

Last night I got my first headache in 2 months.. all the excitement of the day I guess and driving home late last night. Plus I ate terribly all day yesterday.. Chick-Fil-A, Coldstone and then Olive Garden.. But it was soooo good! I join the gym tomorrow and it's time to get back in shape. I have enjoyed Spring Break but am ready to get back on schedule.

Yellow?

Ugh.

Okay, so I'm really wanting to paint the living room.. and I have narrowed it down to either yellow or brown.... But I'm thinking a shade of yellow because I want COLOR! My MIL just had her dining room painted Fresh Butter by B. Moore... so I stopped by and bought me one of those cute sample bottles and painted 2 spots... I need something richer.. more "aged" This is too fresh... Perfect for a little girl's room, but not for a sophisticated living room.
my walls need help!

Any of you that have a fantastic yellow shade that you must share with me, please do!

Recognize this Face?

Today finds me thrilled of the days to come. Starting off with the kids' spring break next week, to trips with friends, to dance recital to the beach and to the fall when I have the privilege of going to see Beth Moore in a live Bible study! As I have shared before, the ladies in our church ( and from other churches) are participating in her study of the book of Daniel. She will be in Memphis in the fall and I can't wait!!! What I like most about her studies is that she keeps your nose in the Bible while teaching you step by step what she means when she says something. She is clear that she is not about denominational views but that of views of Christians. Love it!

Surprise, Cooking and a Brassy Sunday Afternoon

The weekend started out with the excitement of helping throw Walt's surprise 30th birthday party. It went great and everyone had a blast....

Saturday I was invited to Viking cooking school by a sweet friend, Daty. We had a blast cooking all kinds of Cajun food. I learned how to make Rue and gumbo. Delish. Plus pork loin with cajun mustard sauce and sweet potato biscuits. I was also introduced to Boursin cheese as an appetizer with wheat thins and green grapes.. oh my.. yummy. Something I will be serving soon

(that is not my hand just in case you were wondering)

All done cooking and ready to shop! ( or window shop)

Today after church, outside playing... I didn't realize how brassy my hair was. It def doesn't look this yellow in the Viking pictures. I will have this corrected end of March. Until then...

I hear W say.. "mama, take my picture!" This is what I see...

Update on Kiddos

My youngest ( 2 year old) gave up the paci. This will be night #2. Today at nap time he asked for it but I continue to tell him that he is a big boy and paci is gone-gone. I just washed what I think was the last of them, unless there are some "hidden" ones I won't know about until he finds it.

Now if I could just get W (3 years old) to stop getting up at least 6 times each night, we will be doing good. It never fails that he gets up and had to tell us something. I'm patient at first , but after about the 4th time, I put my ~I Mean It face~ on and tell him to get in bed. He says, "Mama, you make my feelings hurt" and cries and stomps all the way to bed. Oh bless his heart.

KE ( 7 yrs old) is doing well in school. I can tell she is changing. ATTITUDE. Whew. That's all I'm going to say about that.

This is T's busy season... I mean busy.. 4 a.m. until 8 p.m. Yuk. We just booked our family beach vacation and I'm SO thankful for it!

Kids and a Little Something New

Saturday was packed full of birthday parties.. I took all 3 to a family party at the Carousel that morning followed by lunch with the family. Then I sent W with daddy to Logan's party while I took N and KE to Caroline's party. It was a big hit and N really enjoyed himself. Sarah Scott was there who rode home with us for her first night away from home at a friend's house and she did great!

We had pizza and then made homemade chocolate chip cookies which they confessed to sneaking for a pre-breakfast the next morning. After letting them go out a play in the snow we got Saturday night, I cooked them a healthy breakfast. SS is getting ready to move to St Louis and it's really bittersweet. KE has found a sweet friend in her and they made a vow to each other to always be BFF and write letters to each other !

check out this "to do List" the girls made up for the night... I'm not sure who wrote what but I know they both contributed. In case you can't make it out this is what it says: play and wait,
eat supper, make cookies, brothers go to sleep, stay up late, draw and talk, watch Nanny McPhee (which is crossed out b/c we didn't rent it), Do make up, read books and talk, Look in speshul boxes, go to bed, read more books, hug tetd bears, share secret pillow, and best friends.

If you notice to the lower left of my blog, I have added links to some of the other blogs/sites I visit on a pretty regular basis. I have been visiting these sites on and off for well over a year now and just had the thought to actually add them to a blog list rather than search for them under my gazillion favorites all the time. First let me say that just because they are on here does not mean I agree with every single word they have to say; however, I agree with most of their viewpoints to add them to my personal blog.
I have been on a journey of sorts for the truth which I know first and foremost comes from the Bible and the Bible alone. I have learned through this particular journey so far that as a Christian, there will always be struggles.... struggles esp. when we really follow God's word in today's world. I thank God for His grace as I thank God for His judgement.
